You can change the message in the Tutorials -> public_global language pack, the 'no_view_tutorials' language bit.

System Error
Can not translate protected language pack

Is this a CHMOD error?

One last question :)

I went through and changed every language string I found from Tutorials to Articles.

now, where would I find these last 2 and be able to change those?

The only way to change the URL is by editing the /extensions/furlTemplates.php file and rebuilding your FURL cache. That's not easy to do properly. You will also have to go through the source code and change lots of instances of 'tutorials' in various URLs to make them not show up. There's not much I can do about that to make that part easier.

The text in the board navigation is simply pulled from the application's public title which you can set by editing the application on the Manage Applications & Modules page.

I can live with the URL saying tutorials but I was trying to find out the breadcrumb one. I have the applications public title set to Articles as well.

Is that hard coded or cached somewhere else as well?

The one in the breadcrumb is actually just pulled from the $this->lang->words['tutorials'] string, that should be in the public_global word pack for this app.

Okay, I'm started to get annoyed haha mostly on just my lack of experience.

I edited the cache php files directly so I could do find and replace much faster. I made a copy of all those files. Now, If I place them in the cache directory, everything is fine. Until... A mod install re-caches the lang files. They they all go back to the default.

Where is it pulling those original strings from?

How can I achieve what I'm trying to do here without hopefully not going back and making all those edits again?

You never want to edit the cache files (skin or language) directly. If you want to change the text in this app, do so from the Manage Languages page in the Admin CP.

Hi,

I wanted to buy this addon, however this forces me to buy an IPB support license to access the marketplace at IPB.

Of course that I understand your intention of keeping this product popular on their marketplace, just sad as it keeps me away from acquiring it.

With my best regards.

That's not entirely accurate that you're forced to buy an IP.Board support license in order to purchase this, but yes, I do require all first-time sales to non Premium members here to be made at the Marketplace in order to prevent PayPal fraud. It's unfortunate, I get that, but it was a business decision I had to make.

In the future, please post feedback about the policies of this site in the Feedback forum, this is not a support issue.

I really don't understand what you're trying to say. Can you please explain it a little clearer, with full sentences and such? Are you getting error messages? If so, what are they saying?

Michael : First i am dyslexic i do try my best to speak more clearer, secondly the error i have the tutorial is not install any templates on the forum so i have error pointing to the skin xml files, i believe its down to fact have custom skin installed and not the main default skin.

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend, I just really can't understand what some people say sometimes when they don't speak the way I'm expecting. I apologize if I came across badly with that post.

Try going to the template tools page in the Admin CP, and then using the section in the middle to rebuild the master skin data. Make sure to check the boxes for "Rebuild HTML", "Rebuild CSS" and "Tutorials", then click the Rebuild button. After doing that, recache all of your skin sets.

I had this too when I upgraded, although the usual rebuild rectified it. I suspect is a 323 bug as I've had it happen before, there is a report floating around about this behaviour somewhere but I cannot place it at the moment.

I'm pretty sure it is an IP.Board bug, this one has cropped up in pretty much every application I support.

Ok, I'm having a strange problem. I installed the newest version of Tutorials yesterday upgrading a fully setup older version 1.2.2 and I have categories but nothing listed underneath them. I can see the number of tutorials and if I click on the newest tutorial shortcut it takes me to it. But it doesn't show up.

Where did they all go?

Thanks,

-Dominic

:) MT here... having a bit of trouble using your post class... advanced third-party usage... sorry
at its most basic, when i setAuthor, setCategoryId, setTutorialTitle, setPublished, and setPostContent using it, then run
$this->post->addTutorial();
($this->post is my instantiated class of your post Class interface here) I somehow turn up with no results within tutorials... was hoping seeing as you have a very well thought-out method structure here I would not have to resort to raw database inserts/manual recaching... any pointers? I can put up my entire method if necessary....
Help appreciated :)
