After formatting a tutorial and your ready to post, this is how I would expect it to be formatted in the tutorial:
After I post the tutorial, it now looks like this:
Does not matter if HTML is on or off (any selection).
I can't edit it, and if I try, it wont save (the buttons dont work - "save changes" or "use full editor").

I haven't seen the buttons fail to work, but I am seeing some linebreaks being lost (this is a constant struggle with IP.Boards various editors over the years). I'll look into it.

Ok, so I reinstalled the application and these buttons now work. But the formatting is still the same.
If you are seeing linebreaks being lost, then I guess the report was worth it
We are having this problem too. We are currently unable to edit or add to any of our tutorials as when we edit any all the formatting is lost.

OK, I believe all of the editor issues should be worked out now. Posting a brand new tutorial seems to work fine (saves the correct code in the database, displays it as expected) in all of the following cases:
HTML disabled basic editor
HTML disabled RTE
HTML in Raw Linebreak mode basic editor
HTML in Raw Linebreak mode RTE
HTML in Auto Linebreak mode basic editor
HTML in Auto Linebreak mode RTE
Doing a quick edit on each of these displays the correct raw text. Saving that immediately each time again saves the correct content to the database and displays it as expected. Opening a quick edit, switching to the full editor, and saving that without any changes again saves the proper content to the database and displays it as expected. Doing a quick edit, making a change, and saving that saves the correct data to the database and displays it as expected. Doing a quick edit, making a change, switching to the full editor, saving that again saves the correct content to the database and displays it correctly.
So I think this is all worked out now. God, I hope so.

this part is driven off having comments system off. turn it on and this issue disappears.
I tested a couple and from what I can tell formatting stays consistent throughout
